Long Walk
Take a long walk with a good friend.
Perhaps nothing is more healing for the soul than a long walk shared with a good friend. The movement seems to stir up the sacred. The rhythm of synchronized footfalls matches the holy heartbeat.
I just took an hour-long pilgrimage with a pal. We walked. We talked. That was all. Simple. Nothing fancy. And it was wonderful.
Most of the best stories of the ancient wise folks and spiritual leaders involve walking. To be fair… not a lot of cars back then… but still. Maybe we’ve lost some sense of the rhythm of the sacred because our cars, planes, and trains go so fast.
Your soul might need a long walk with a good friend sometime soon.
🚶➡️Do you have people with whom you can slowly and intentionally journey through life?
🚶♀️➡️Has a shared walk ever felt like a prayer to you?
🚶♂️➡️If we were on a long walk together right now, what would we be talking about?
