  • Sacred Encounters begin with one small act of courage: the invitation.

    Think of someone you’d love to connect with more deeply — a friend, a neighbor, a colleague, or someone you’re just getting to know. Maybe they’ve been through something big. Maybe you’ve had a good conversation before and want to go further. Maybe you just feel a nudge.

    Now… ask.

    You don’t need the perfect words. You just need intention.

    “Hey, I found something called a Sacred Encounter. It’s just a guided conversation over coffee, meant to spark real connection. Want to try it with me?”

    Start with a text message, email, a social media direct message, or a phone call. There are people in your life longing to have more deep conversations like this.

    You can send them a link to this page ahead of time, or just invite them to meet you and be present. The encounter begins the moment you reach out.

    ⚠️P.S. Sometimes it helps to let peole know that you promise not to proselytize, evangelize, or try to make them believe what you believe. Let them know about these BETWEEN Agreements as a model for healthy discussion.

  • We’ve created a vast library of ideas, topics, and thoughtful messages for you and everyone with whom you share a Sacred Encounter to consider and discuss. Try reading (or watching) one of BETWEEN’s messages before you get together — or read/watch it while you’re getting settled in… then get ready to talk about what you learned, what it made you think of, what you disagreed with, and how it makes you want to engage with other people.

  • We believe connection is sacred. So we treat it that way — not with formality, but with care.

    Each Sacred Encounter begins and ends with a small ritual. Nothing complicated. Just a way to mark the space between you as holy.

    Here are a few simple options to choose from — or create your own:

    • Open with a pause
      Take 30 seconds of shared silence. Breathe. Notice. Arrive.

    • Light a candle (real or symbolic)
      It signals that this moment matters.

    • Offer a grounding blessing

      “May we be fully here. May we be honest. May we be kind. May we appreciate the sacredness of our time together.”

    • Share a warm drink toast!
      “A toast to togetherness. May God bless this time together. Cheers!”

    • Close with gratitude

      “Thank you for being here with me.” Or simply hold a moment of quiet.

    Sacred doesn’t have to mean serious or stiff. It means intentional, tender, and real. Ritual helps us slow down enough to notice what’s holy in the connection we’re creating.
