Ache

It's a rainy day here... And I've had two unprompted conversations already today about loneliness.

I don't consider myself a "lonely person," but I get waves of loneliness that crash into me like an unsteady tidal surge.

I sometimes long for a connection I can’t quite name. Maybe you know that feeling too.

If you ever find yourself sitting in that ache, I hope you remember two things:

1) You're not alone in your longing for connection.

2) That ache is evidence of a deep love inside you.

Maya Angelou once wrote, “The ache for home lives in all of us.”

I think that “home” is sacred connection. Real belonging. Being seen. Being loved. Home is togetherness.

So if you're aching, that doesn’t mean something’s wrong with you. It means your soul remembers what you were made for. Be gentle with that ache. It’s holy.

Have you felt that kind of ache recently?

What do you think your soul is longing for?
