What memories do Christmas songs bring up for you?
You probably saw that we shared our BETWEEN Holiday Playlist (Volume 2) recently. It’s full of holiday songs that matter to me.
Music connects us. Music sings of something beneath the shallow concerns of our typical life. Music can sync our souls to God’s rhythm.
Here’s a passage from Psalm 42 that I’m reflecting on today…
Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.
By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.
(Psalm 42:7-8)
Deep calls to deep. Something deep inside me knows the true sound of something deep inside of you. Maybe it’s God’s perfect voice. Maybe it is the hymn of an angelic choir. Whatever it is, it resonates in my bones, and in your heart, and back again.
