Lonesome
Everyone is a little lonesome sometimes. Nobody wants to say it first.
Everyone feels like the lost sheep sometimes. Praying silently that the shepherd will leave the flock to find them. (Luke 15:3–6)
A mentor of mine asked me recently, “You’ve always kind of felt like nobody can quite understand the world from your lonely point of view, haven’t you?”
Yes. I had. Maybe you have too.
Loneliness and belonging aren’t about counting the number of friends we do or don’t have, or adding up our total memberships and communities.
Loneliness is a deep spiritual ache. Belonging is a profound spiritual embrace.
And here’s the sacred truth: You are never wandering the hills alone. There is a Love that notices when you’re missing. A Presence that sees what you see. A Shepherd who goes out into the dark just for you.
You belong. Love refuses to lose you.
A Prayer for You Today:
May Love find you today. And may you feel Love’s presence sitting next to you there in the quiet moment you thought you were alone. Love found you again, as it always will.
Amen.
How else can I hold you in my prayers today, friend?
